The 2022 edition of the Flatlanders Road Race is completed and the results can be found here:
Thank you to all the participants and huge shout out to the volunteers
It was a beautiful day in A.E.Wilson park for the 2022 Boot Race. Everyone is back to in person events this year. That is awesome! But we think that gave people lots of choices so our numbers were down for the Boot Race. It was still a fun time and the new champion is Rand Luhning who took home the Coveted Boot Race Award. Congrats Rand!

Boot Race is a 5 km handicap race. For those who have never run a handicap race, or need a reminder, each runner starts the race based on his/her best 5 km time in the past year. If everyone matched his/her time exactly, everyone would cross the finish line together. BUT, if you can beat your best time, you come across the line just a little bit ahead of everyone else.
Come on out and have some fun.
Watch for others using the pathways.
Mark your calendar. The 2022 Regina Road Runners AGM will take place on March 23, 2022 at the Copper Kettle Restaurant. Cocktails will start at 5:30 pm; pizza and soft drinks will start at 6:00 pm followed by the AGM and discussion.

The Regina Road Runners are hosting our annual Harvest Moon Run. Join us for a relaxing fall, fun run – in the dark!, with social distancing. Walkers are welcome!
The event is on Saturday October 16th – the last event from the RRRC for 2021. There will be a short briefing at 18:45, and the running/walking shall begin at 19:00. We will gather and run from the outside of the Lumsden Hotel and Steak Pit, 30 2nd Avenue, Lumsden.
The course will be a tour of parts of Lumsden, including a spectacular view of the valley (in the dark).
This is a fun run to enjoy the company of other runners, reminisce about the race season and enjoy fall in the Qu’Appelle Valley. It isn’t a race and won’t be timed, but it will be fun! Registration is required but there is no cost.
Register here.
This is a night race in October and sunset occurs early. A headlamp or flashlight is required. Reflective clothing is required.
Following the run/walk, everyone is invited to gather (not too close!) at the Lumsden Hotel and Steak Pit for appetizers and beverages.
The day was hot with smoke in the air but 42 runners came out and ran the race. We had difficulties at 1 turnaround point that affected all of the 15km runners and some of the 10km runners. The actual distance run is noted where we have that information. We appreciate the positive attitude of those who had fun with the longer run.
There were 14 volunteers involved in putting on the race.
The results are not all tallied but there was a significant amount of donations and profit from the race that will go to Theo’s Challenge – the total will be posted when it is finalized. Many thanks to all of you who participated in whatever way. All in all a fun and successful day.
