2021 Boot Race Results

There were some challenges to the 2021 Boot Race: McCarthy Boulevard is closed to vehicle traffic and an obstacle course for pedestrians, The rain Thursday night made the normal race route unsafe, flooding closed the washrooms at Rick Hansen park and the race clock failed before the race but the volunteers and runners were eager for the first live club event since the beginning of the pandemic so everyone showed up.

The race began on time with 12 runners and a great crowd of volunteers to time them. Jan and Robert ran neck and neck throughout the race right to the finish line where Robert edged Jan out to take the much coveted trophy home to Waldeck. (Ok, I think they were chatting until the last few metres). Sunshine and laughter were everywhere and we look forward to seeing everyone at future RRRC events

Harvest Moon Run 2020

Now that the race season that never was is coming to a close, the Regina Road Runners will come together for a relaxing fall, fun run – in the dark!, with social distancing. Walkers are welcome!

The event is on Saturday September 26th – the last event from the RRRC for 2020. There will be a short briefing at 18:45, and the running/walking shall begin at 19:00.  We will gather and run from the outside of the Lumsden Hotel and Steak Pit, 30 2nd Avenue, Lumsden.

The course will be a breath-taking (it could be cold, and yes – there is probably a hill) tour of parts of Lumsden.

This is a fun run to enjoy the company of other runners, reminisce about what you would have done if there had been a race season and enjoy fall in the Qu’Appelle Valley. It isn’t a race and won’t be timed, but it will be fun! Registration is not required and there is no cost.

This is a night race in late September and sunset occurs early. A headlamp or flashlight is required. Reflective clothing is required.

Following the run/walk, everyone is invited to gather (not too close!) at the Lumsden Hotel and Steak Pit for appetizers and beverages.

26th Annual Flatlanders Road Race

https://raceroster.com/events/2020/32455/flatlanders-road-race-2020

The 2020 Flatlanders Road Race will be a virtual event that can be completed over a 1 week period of time. This allows us interesting options like allowing people to sign up for more than one distance if they choose and to remove any restrictions on people wishing to walk any of the distances.

Our charity this year is Theo’s Challenge.

Please click on the link above to learn the details of the race and about this year’s charity.

Regina Beach Trail Race

The Regina Beach trail race is a fun summer event with 5, 10 and 15 km options for runners to explore the Regina Beach area along paved trails, along roads and more rugged trails for longer distances. There will also be a 700 meter Children’s Race. The Children’s race will start at 9 AM and the other races will start after all the children have finished

The 2020 race is currently scheduled for July 11, 2020. If it is not possible to proceed on that date, August 8 has been set aside as an alternate date. Should our current situation with the virus not change enough to hold a physical race, we will look at holding a virtual race.

A decision will be made on how to proceed by June 10, 2020.

This year the proceeds from the race will be donated to Theo’s Challenge.
