Results from the PLTC

Pasqua Lake Trail Challenge is over. What a great day! The sky was clear and the air was cool enough to keep the runners from overheating when climbing the hills.

The new start location was great for spectators. Seeing the runners come blaring down the hill towards the finish was thrilling!

Mountain of Hope results 2015

On June 20, 2015, 43 people challenged the course at White Butte. In 4 years of helping to put Mountain of Hope on, conditions have never been better. Most of the course was dry, the grass was manageable, mosquitoes were only a minor nuisance and the weather was fantastic!

Race Director Jason prepared some unique and excellent finisher’s medals:

Pasqua Lake Trail Challenge – Still Drying Out…

What can I say? It was not the day I envisioned when planning this race. However, as Margaret surmised, despite the cold, wet, and mud, I think people had fun. Certainly it will be a day we will all remember for a long time.

Congratulations to all the runners who braved the elements and came out. You are all winners. Results are posted below. Continue reading

A Moonless Harvest Moon Run

It was a dark and stormy night. Well, perhaps the weather wasn’t quite the same as when Snoopy started his stories, but it was dark and there was some rain.

We didn’t get to see the moon, in all its harvest fullness, but the weather was reasonably warm, the wind calm and the rain had mostly passed before the run started.

Pasqua Lake Trail Challenge – A Success!

Race day was bright and sunny, and a bit humid.

The meal catered by Smokin’ Joes Southern BBQ out of Fort Qu’Appelle was excellent.

And, the 56 runners performed very well! A few got lost, despite Rick’s well marked course, but, that’s trail running!

Some folks were lucky enough to win some great draw prizes, sponsored by Track and Trail and Sport Chek. Continue reading

Regina Beach Trail Race Results

Regina Beach Trail Race was another success, with 45 starting and finishing the race. There were a couple of points of confusion on the course and a few who logged some extra miles, but that is trail running. We will take note of those locations for the next time.

A picture slideshow and results are posted below.

But first, a big thank you to all volunteers that helped out: Doug (race director, course marshall and host), Marilyn (hostess and food), Rob (timing), Robb and Jeannette (registration), Gareth (cooking), Patti (course marshall), a couple others on timing, and whoever else just pitched in!
