2021 Trail Race Series
Current news on Summer Trail Race Series
The 2021 Summer Trail Race Series will run August 24 – October 12. This will be the ninth iteration of the series. The series is designed to get runners together and enjoy trying some great trails not too far from Regina.
The Details
When: Tuesday nights (weekly), 18:15 race time (with some exceptions). Course overview and instructions at 18:10 (or 5 minutes before race time). Series begins August 24 and will end October 12.
Course: A moderate course will be set at each location. Courses will be marked. Maps will not be available prior to the event.
Registration: In order to be eligible for the evening, register for the series online using Race Roster and be present by the time the course overview begins.
Timing: Self timed. Times will be collected using the Strava app. Participants can join the Strava Trail Series club. Timing is on the honour system. Any deviation from the course should be addressed by the runner as a self-assessed penalty.
Aid Stations: None
Course Marshall: Member in charge for the evening. This person will be participating as well.
Who: RRRC members and guests/non-members. Please buy your membership online and register for the series (link above).
Cost: Free for RRRC members. When registering, use your RRRC membership and the registration fee will be waived. $10/week for non-members.

COVID-19 Precautions
- Registration is now online
- Waivers will be signed electronically upon registration (therefore no need to have people sign in on paper when they arrive)
- Timing is self timed and submission will be online via a Strava group or by email (quick and easy)

- Hidden Valley – October 12
- Our most confusing course for last! You’ll find your way back to your car though.
- It may get dark before we are finished. Bring a headlamp!
- Directions to Hidden Valley
- Sections will be slippery when wet. An alternate course or location may be devised in the event of rain. Notification will be by email before 17:30 to registered runners
- Buffalo Pound Trails (Wascana Wander style) – October 5
- Delayed start time to 18:30 to allow extra travel time.
- Meet at Lower Chalet Campground
- It will get dark before we are finished. Bring a headlamp! (and maybe a cell phone, but you’ll have to head to high ground for service)
- Sections will be slippery when wet. An alternate course or location may be devised in the event of rain. Notification will be by email before 17:30 to registered runners
- The Moose Jaw Pavers cycle club has an overview map of the area. Trail Forks has an interactive map of the trails.
- Set up 5 zones and randomly selected trail markers: 3, 4, 5, 21 and 30
- Lumsden Trans Canada Trail – September 28
- Start at parking area off Seven Bridges Road, West of Lumsden.
- Trail is mostly grass covered. The mowing schedule is not known.
- An overview of the Lumsden area TCT is available along with a detailed map.
- Qu’Appelle Valley Nordic Club – September 21
- Qu’Appelle Valley Nordic Club has let us use their new facility with a few kilometres of freshly cut grass trail. The club is still fairly new and offers fantastic programming. Read more on their Facebook page.
- Meet in the parking area, past the sign. Directions to Qu’Appelle Valley Nordic Club.
- QVN puts a lot of work into their trails. Donations are welcome.

- Wascana Trails – September 14
- Meet at the big map near the entrance to the parking lot. Directions to Wascana Trails.

- Echo Valley Trails – September 7
- Start time 6:30 PM (to allow for driving time)

Start from Nature Centre. Take highway 210 to the park. Go down into the valley, and once in the valley it’s the first left, and then another left and follow signs to Nature Centre.

You do need a park pass (available for purchase in the park).

- Similar to the last couple of years.
- 2 loops in same direction to minimize overlap on course
