It was a cool and rainy start to the 21st Annual Flatlanders Road Race in Regina. More than 400 runners took part in either the 5k, 10k or half marathon events. The race began at the Douglas Park Track in Wascana Park. The rain subsided as the runners were out on the course.
Crowds of friends and relatives were on hand to cheer. Brian Sampson from Track and Trail helped hand out medals to all the finishers. The Flatlanders Road Race is hosted by the Regina Road Runners Club.
The Organizing committee is all volunteer, and was led by Patti Walker.
What can I say? It was not the day I envisioned when planning this race. However, as Margaret surmised, despite the cold, wet, and mud, I think people had fun. Certainly it will be a day we will all remember for a long time.

Come join the fun, the run and the experience. The Flatlanders Road Race is celebrating 20 years as a running event in Regina. The Regina Road Runners Club and the Flatlanders Organizing Committee are proud to have been able to provide an opportunity for runners of all ages and abilities to get together as a running community for 20 years.
